We sat down with FACE Foundation’s Board President and founder, Cini Robb, at her Rancho Santa Fe home along with FACE Executive Director Danae Davis and staff members to chat about the organization’s life-saving work.

What is FACE and what do you do?

FACE was established in 2006 as a direct response to Economic Euthanasia – a problem that occurs when a pet owner cannot afford to pay for their pet’s critical care needed to survive. Sadly, in these situations the only option a pet owner has is to put their animal down. We knew we had to do something about this problem, so we created FACE.

What once was just a dream to help animals in the community, has now become a vital resource in San Diego. Today, we are a full-fledged nonprofit charity that has saved 2,000 lives and counting!

What kinds of people do you help?

FACE grantees are typically low-income families, senior citizens, veterans, military families, students or disabled individuals. Many grantees are hard-working families and individuals who simply cannot afford the sudden high costs for emergency veterinary care.

How do you raise funds, and what can people do to support FACE?

We rely solely on the generosity of our community to continue saving lives. Supporters can make a tax-deductible donation at www.face4pets.org, spread the word about our programs with their friends and families, and attend our fundraising events like Bags & Baubles.

What is Bags & Baubles?

Bags & Baubles is FACE’s largest fundraising event of the year, held at a beautiful Rancho Santa Fe estate. This year’s event will be held on April 29th and will feature a silent auction of new and “gently loved” designer handbags, jewelry, accessories and sunglasses. Guests will also enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres, delicious wine and luxe opportunity prizes – all for a good cause.

You can sign up for Bags & Baubles by visiting www.bagsandbaubles.org or calling (858) 450-3223.
